“SECONDARY STUDENTS ’ RESPONSES TO LEARNING ENGLISH”

Everybody has the need to communicate with others. Learning English as a foreign language allows us to communicate and exchange ideas with people who speak English from around the world. The purpose of the present study is to identify students ’ perceptions concerning the learning of English as a foreign language at Secondary School. In addition, the study aims to find out how relevant learning English is for secondary students. Eighteen Secondary students participated in answering an open questions interview based on our research questions. The interviewees were selected from the three levels and the collected data was analyzed to interpret the results. As a result, the data revealed that students are interested in learning English and they are aware of the importance for their education. Based on the findings, some recommendations are provided.
